Gordon Brown will give a statement to the House of Commons at 15:30 BST today on the EU Council meeting and the EU Treaty signed last week.
EU leaders met in Lisbon, Portugal to consider the final text of the EU Treaty drawn up following negotiations made at the EU Council in Brussels in June this year. The UK pushed for the inclusion of a number of “red lines” allowing it to maintain control over issues such as foreign, social and security policy.
