Notes for Editors
The changes follow the resignations of the Rt Hon Peter Hain MP as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Rt Hon Lord Grocott as Captain of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms (the Chief Whip, Lords) and Lord Triesman as Parliamentary under Secretary of State, Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
In addition:
The Rt Hon Paul Murphy will also chair a new cross-Departmental Committee on IT and Information Security, and will also chair the Committee on Local Government and the Regions (DA(LGR))
The Rt Hon Rosie Winterton MP, currently Minister of State at the Department for Transport, will also take on responsibility as Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber, taking over from Caroline Flint
