In accordance with the Intelligence Services Act 1994, the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Gordon Brown, has today appointed the Rt Hon Margaret Beckett as Chair of the Intelligence and Security Committee. The move follows the appointment of the previous Chair, Paul Murphy, as Secretary of State for Wales.
