Only those who have a right to be in Britain should be allowed to come here, so:
- In 2008, we are introducing an Australian-style points system for immigrants and will deport more foreign nationals who break the law.
- By 2009, we will have begun to issue compulsory ID cards to foreign nationals who come here to work or study.
- By 2010, new electronic border controls will be counting people in and out of the country.
