The Prime Minister appoints David Adjaye, Erin O’Connor, Michelle Ogundehin, Steve McGuckin and Robert Stefanowski to the Board of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

David Adjaye
David Adjaye is recognised as one of the leading architects of his generation in the UK. He formed a partnership in 1994 and quickly built a reputation as an architect with an artistry vision. He reformed his studio in June 2000 as Adjaye/Associates and he has gone on to win a number of prestigious commissions. He has presented lectures at Princeton University, Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, Architectural Association, Universidad de Luisdad in Lisbon, Cornell, Yale, Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles, the Royal College of Art, Cambridge and Norsk Forum in Oslo. David has co-presented two television series of “Dreamspaces” for BBC (six-part series on modern architecture), hosted a BBC Radio program which featured an interview Oscar Neimeyer and in June 2005, he presented the BBC documentary, “Building Africa: The Architecture of a Continent.” In May 2005, Thames & Hudson published Adjaye’s first book entitled David Adjaye Houses: Recycling, Reconfiguring, Rebuilding which is being distributed world-wide. This was followed by David Adjaye: Making Public Buildings, which accompanied the exhibition of the same name at The Whitechapel Gallery in 2006. In 2007, David was awarded an OBE for services to architecture.
Erin O’Connor
Erin O’Connor is a leading fashion model and writer/broadcaster on fashion and design. She is also Vice-Chair of the British Fashion Council and a member of the Model Health Inquiry. She undertakes lecturing and mentoring for schools and colleges. She has also lectured at the V&A.
Michelle Ogundehin
Michelle Ogundehin has contributed to publications all over the world and is internationally recognized as an authority on interiors, style and design. She is also a director of MO:Studio Ltd, her own creative direction and interior design consultancy. Michelle was appointed Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration in May 2004, a relationship with the magazine that’s 12 years long and counting! In September 2007 she launched ELLE Decoration Collections, an annual guide to the world’s best new designs, and in August 2007 she was appointed Editor in Chief of Real Homes magazine (a position she holds in addition to her editorship of ELLE Decoration) masterminding its re-launch in January 2008. As such she’s helping people make the most of their homes from the mainstream to the very high-end. Trained as an architect, she began her career assisting the renowned art historian turned television presenter Tim Marlow on the launch of Tate Art Magazine.
Stephen McGuckin
Stephen McGuckin has held senior positions at Fitch RS plc, Grimshaw and Mace Ltd. Stephen joined Land Securities Group PLC in 2001 as Development Director, became Director of Projects in 2004 and is currently Head of Ebbsfleet Valley, one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe. Stephen has assisted the Natural History Museum on the Darwin Phase II Project and is on the CABE Design advisory panel for the London 2012 Olympics. Stephen frequently lectures on property development and project management.
Robert Stefanowski
Robert Stefanowski is a senior financial executive with over 20 years experience in Commercial, Retail and Private Banking. Bob is currently engaged in financial services with a private equity firm located in London. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business, New York University and the London Business School teaching a course in Mergers and Acquisitions.
