Privy Council Appointments

The Queen has been pleased to approve that Sir John (Bernard) Goldring and Sir Rupert (Matthew) Jackson be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council on their appointment as  Lord Justices of Appeal.

John Bernard Goldring: Born in 1944 and educated at Wyggeston Grammar School and Exeter University. Called to the Bar, Lincoln’s Inn, 1969; Bencher, 1996; a Recorder, 1987-1999; a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, since 1999.

Rupert Matthew Jackson: Born in 1948 and educated at Christ’s Hospital; Jesus College, Cambridge; Called to the Bar, Middle Temple, 1972; Bencher 1995; a Recorder, 1990-1998; a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, since 1999.
