The Queen has been pleased to approve that The Honourable Mr Justice Munby (Sir James Lawrence Munby) be appointed as a Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 12 October 2009, following the retirement of Lord Justice Keene.
Biographical Note
The Honourable Mr Justice Munby (61) was called to the Bar in 1971 and made a Bencher (Middle Temple) in 2000. He took Silk in 1988 and was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge in 1995. He was appointed a Judge of the High Court (Family Division) in 2000 and a Special Immigration Appeals Commissioner in 2002. Mr Justice Munby has also been a nominated judge of the Administrative Court since 2000. He was knighted in 2000.
