The PM recording a podcast at Downing Street; Crown copyrightThe Prime Minister has spoken about his determination to end “reckless banking practices” and protect consumers and homebuyers in his latest podcast.

This week more banks have agreed to Government reforms on bonuses meaning rewards will be paid over a number of years and can be taken back if necessary.

Gordon Brown said banks must put businesses and homeowners first.

He also spoke about ensuring more responsible lending in the mortgage market and plans to change some of the practices used by credit card companies.

The PM said:

“Be assured, all our efforts are driven by my determination to ensure a fair deal for all; with financial services that work for you, not for them.”

The podcasts, which are available on our iTunes channel and YouTube, are recorded at Downing Street or around the world when the Prime Minister is travelling.
