After receiving hundreds of fantastic entries for the first Downing Street Art Competition, we’re now on the hunt again for more talented young people. This time, we will be looking for the best drawings, paintings or sketches on the theme: Keeping Healthy.
The winning pictures will be hung in the waiting room of 10 Downing Street and the young artists will be invited to the house to see their work on display.
Once again, the panel of judges will be looking for creativity and artistic flair when choosing the best pictures from three age groups: 5 – 7, 8 – 11 and 12 – 16 years.
Whether you’re a painter, sketcher or digital artist, you can enter the competition by posting your artwork on a landscape, A3 piece of paper to:

The competition will close on 25 February 2010. This is a great opportunity for young artists to have their work displayed alongside some of the country’s greatest artists.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
1.By submitting an entry in the competition, participants agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, which form the rules of the Competition.
2. Participants must complete and return the official Downing Street entry form along with their artwork. These must be submitted by post at the following address: ART COMPETITION, Direct Communications Unit, 10 Downing Street, London SW1A 2AA.
3. Entry forms must be signed by a parent/guardian. By signing, the parent/guardian consents to and accepts all terms and conditions.
4. The entry form includes the following personal information: surname, first name, parent/guardian’s name, sex, date of birth, school/study centre, home address, town/city, postal code, telephone number, mobile number and e-mail address. Participants bear full responsibility for the complete and accurate submission of their personal information on the entry form.
5. Submissions must be painted/drawn or printed on an A3 landscape size page. Submissions which do not comply with the specifications above will not be accepted. The use of a computer is allowed but photography is not.
6. The competition will be held on an ad hoc basis. Closing dates will be announced clearly on the Number10 website at the opening of each competition round.
7. Downing Street freely reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition for a good reason or to alter the dates of the competition or the way the competition is conducted for any reason after publishing this alteration appropriately.
8. There will be three age groups:
• 5 – 7 year olds
• 8 – 11 year olds
• 12 – 16 year olds9. Artwork submitted should be original and exclusive work of the participant. It must be work that has not been published in any way or entered in any other competitions and should constitute the exclusive work of the participant. Entries will be disqualified if plagiarism is detected.
10. Each participant is eligible to submit only ONE piece of artwork.
11. Entrants will be judged on the originality and artistry of the work.
12. The selected winner of each age group will be invited to Downing St and their art work will be displayed in the visitors’ waiting room for approximately 3 months. This prize cannot be exchanged or transferred to any other person.
13. The results of the competition will be announced on the Number 10 website within 15 working days of the respective closing date. The competition winners will be notified in writing at the address supplied on the entry form. Downing Street bears no responsibility in the event of unsuccessful attempts to notify the winner, which are due to the submission of inaccurate or incomplete personal data on the entry form.
14. Downing Street reserves the right to publicise all artwork that is submitted. Winners may be asked to appear in publicity relating to the competition. Downing Street takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of postage or delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt. Artwork will not be returned to the participant.
15. Participants, and their parents/guardians consent, by their entering the present competition, to the publication of the artwork they submit and agree that any intellectual property rights in the submitted artwork, including the rights to use, publish, circulate and reproduce, are transferred to Downing Street.
16. Downing Street bears no responsibility for any possible infringement of intellectual property rights of third parties arising from the artwork submitted.
17. The information received may be used for statistical purposes as well as for the forwarding of the prize to the winner.
18. Immediate family of employees of Cabinet Office are excluded from the competition.
19. Downing Street’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into with participants.
