PM praises school governors

Tony Blair at a Number 10 school governors receptionThis week the Prime Minister held a reception for 150 school governors at Downing Street in recognition of the important work they do in improving the education of schoolchildren.

Respect web chat

Louise Casey, head of the anti-social behaviour unitTony Blair’s push for action to tackle anti-social behaviour has continued with the head of government’s Respect unit Louise Casey taking part in a live Q & A on this website.  For over an hour Ms Casey tackled dozens of questions on policing, prostitution and Asbos.

The Prime Minister faced a wide range of questions during his weekly PMQs with topics covered including ID cards, anti-social behaviour and climate change. 

City Living

Tony Blair is shown around the Aylesbury estate in London On Thursday Tony Blair met a number of Britain’s city leaders to discuss how they can become more involved in tackling deprivation in their areas. The meeting comes ahead of the publication of the Green Paper on welfare reform.

The Prime Minister also visited an estate in South East London which is benefiting from the government’s New Deal for Communities programme, giving deprived communities the ability to regenerate their areas.
