This week the PM answered questions from the Liaison Select Committee, set out plans for Trust schools and addressed a conference on anti-social behaviour.

Increasing access to healthcare

Questioning the PM

Tony Blair answers questions from the Liaison Committee 7 February 2006The Prime Minister made his first appearance before the Liaison Select Committee this year as he answered questions for two and a half hours on the G8 and the EU, education and health reforms and the Palestinian elections. Tony Blair faced questions of a different sort in his weekly PMQ’s covering topics including the cartoon demonstrations and his Respect action plan.

PM puts trust in teachers and parents

Education Secretary Ruth Kelly and Tony BlairThe government must put its trust in teachers and parents and give them the freedom to provide the best education for all children, Tony Blair said this week. More than 50 delegates, including blue-chip companies such as Microsoft, attended a school Trust seminar at Number 10 with the PM and Education Secretary Ruth Kelly.

Safer communities

Tony Blair addresses the Safer Croydon Partnership conference"Community safety is everyone’s responsibility" the Prime Minister told an anti-social behaviour conference in Croydon, South London.
