Heading "down under"
On the first day of his week-long trip to the Asia-Pacific region, the PM watched the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, and met up with some of the British competitors in the athletes’ village.
Later, in an important speech to the Australian Parliament, Mr Blair said a "strong alliance" was needed between countries around the world to tackle the problems of poverty, climate change and terrorism.
Time for action
After laying a wreath at the Australian War Memorial, the PM held talks with his counterpart John Howard and praised the "common approach" of the two nations.
He then headed for New Zealand, where he addressed a climate change conference and told delegates the whole world had to act quickly to tackle the environment challenges that face us all. Afterwards, Mr Blair met PM Helen Clark for talks.
Tackling the terrorists
The PM concluded his trip by holding talks with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Jakarta. He said the UK and Indonesia were entering a relationship which was "very exciting with tremendous possibilities".
While the PM was overseas, John Prescott took Prime Minister’s Questions where he was asked about pensions, education and council tax.
