Paul Ruddock re-appointed as Trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum

The Prime Minister has today re-appointed Mr Paul Ruddock as Trustee of the Victoria & Albert Museum for a period of four years from 3 May 2006.

Biographical note

Paul Ruddock had a successful background in equity market investment working for a number of companies including Goldman Sachs and Schroder, before setting up his own fund management company in 1998. He has had an active relationship with the V&A since 1996, and has acted as a facilitator and networker for the Museum. He joined the British Galleries Appeal Committee in October 2000. He is particularly interested in metalwork, sculpture, architecture and Medieval and Renaissance works of art.

Mr Ruddock has not been involved in any political activity in the last five years.

Notes for Editors

The Victoria & Albert Museum houses collections of fine and applied art, craft and design. It includes the National Art Library, and the Trustees also manage the Theatre Museum, the National Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green and the Wellington Museum at Apsley House. Trustees of the Victoria & Albert Museum are not remunerated.
