The UK Government will invest more money in scientific research “than at any time in the country’s history”, the Prime Minister has said.

The Prime Minister has confirmed that the Government will implement a capital investment programme totalling £40 billion across the UK in 2009.

Gordon Brown has outlined the Government’s thinking on how it will invest billions of pounds to stimulate the economy and create potentially tens of thousands of new jobs.
