The Government has teamed up with 20 Premier League clubs in a £3.8 million partnership to offer thousands of young people the chance to get involved in four Olympic sports.
The Prime Minister has hailed the London 2012 Olympics as a “shot in the arm for the economy” during a visit to the Olympic site in east London to mark the half-way point between the winning of the bid and the 2012 opening ceremony.
“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to adopt into British law the British Olympic Association bylaw which bans proven drug cheats from competing at the Olympic Games for life. It further calls on the Government to petition the International Olympic Committee, one of whose principle aims is to promote fair play, to adopt the BOA’s position into its own rules by banning all athletes who are found to have taken drugs from the Games for life.”
