Gordon Brown welcomed three First World War veterans, Henry Allingham, Harry Patch and William Stone, to a reception at 10 Downing Street today following the Armistice Day tribute at the Cenotaph.

Gordon Brown has thanked Britain’s Olympic stars for “making the country proud” at a special Government reception in London last night.

Thirteen regional finalists and the winner of the ITV teacher of the Year award came to Downing Street yesterday to be congratulated by the Prime Minister.
