Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting the UK from 16 – 19 September and is travelling to Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Birmingham.
There are three public celebrations taking place during the visit at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow, Hyde Park in London and Cofton Park in Birmingham. There is information on these three events on the Cabinet Office website.
The visit provides an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen ties between the UK and the Holy See on global initiatives and to reaffirm the important role of faith in creating strong communities.
Pope Benedict XVI will visit the UK as Head of State of the Vatican and as the leader of a major denomination.
