Ministerial changes

Lord Hill of Oareford will replace Rt Hon Lord Strathclyde as Leader of the House of Lords.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Lord Hill of Oareford as Leader of the House of Lords and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. He replaces the Rt Hon Lord Strathclyde who is retiring from the Government.

As previously announced, Lord Deighton KBE takes up his position as Commercial Secretary at HM Treasury following the resignation of Lord Sassoon.

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Lord Hill to Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. Lord Hill will be a member of the Cabinet.
