Press briefing - afternoon 11 March 2013

The Prime Minister's Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on the budget and Scottish Independence.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Budget

Asked if the PM intends to protect those areas currently protected in the budget and not just health the PMS said that the PM still stands by the autumn statement and the position on budgets remain the same.

Asked what the PM thought of Vince Cable’s comments on ring fencing budgets the PMS said that the PM received many budget representations and his position remained unchanged from the autumn statement.

Scottish independence

Asked what the PM’s view was on the SNP stating that Scotland were better positioned than Westminster to spend the North Sea oil revenue the PMS said that Scotland remaining as part of the union made both nations stronger.
