Prime Minister opens McLaren's new production centre
PM congratulated Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button
Today, the Prime Minister opened McLaren’s new production centre in Woking. Mr Cameron congratulated Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and every person on the team for their wins this season.
Mr Cameron said:
Formula 1 is a massive British success story.
Even in difficult times, maybe particularly in difficult times, it is a moment when actually you’ve got to try to make sure you are building a really worthwhile economy for the future. And when I come here, it’s a great reminder that actually in Britain we do still have world class engineering, world class manufacturing, world class production techniques.
During the visit, the Prime Minister announced a £250 million pilot to give employers power over skills training.
