PM Direct in Luton
The Prime Minister answered questions from Luton residents today after travelling to EasyJet head quarters at to host his latest PM Direct Q&A session.
PM Direct is a regular series of town hall style events where Mr Cameron takes questions from local residents.
Topics under discussion in Luton included the economy and tackling the budget deficit, pollution, volcanic ash, the NHS, employment and foreign affairs.
The PM opened the session by praising EasyJet for their “fantastic innovation”. He said that in these “difficult times” we need to have innovation to get the economy going.
He said:
We’re involved in a big debate in the country now about how we try and be more efficient, how we try and reduce costs while maintaining quality. And in many ways that’s what EasyJet has always been about, that it doesn’t have to be expensive to be good - in fact, it should be less expensive and be good at the same time.
Mr Cameron also discussed his upcoming visit to Washington next week and answered a number of questions on the BP oil leak, Afghanistan and Gaza.
