The Lord Chancellor has approved the appointment of the Reverend Andrew Tremlett MA, MPhil, PGCE Vicar of Goring-by-Sea, in the diocese of Chichester to the Residentiary Canonry at Bristol Cathedral upon the resignation of the Reverend Canon Peter Johnson MA.

The Reverend Andrew Tremlett (born 1964) read Classics at Pembroke College, Oxford and trained for the ministry at Wycliffe Hall. He served his title at St Matthias, Torquay, Exeter diocese from 1989 to 1992. From 1992 to 1995 he was Priest-in-Charge of St Mary, Rotterdam, diocese of Europe. From 1995 to 1998 he was Vicar of St Columbas Fareham, diocese of Portsmouth, before becoming Chaplain to the Bishop of Portsmouth from 1998 to 2003. Since 2003 he has been Vicar of Goring-by-Sea, Chichester diocese.
Mr Tremlett is married with three children. His recreations include piano playing, running and learning Arabic.
