Gordon Brown visits Berkshire hospital
1 January 2008
The Prime Minister has spent the first morning of 2008 meeting staff at a Berkshire hospital.
Mr Brown travelled with Health Secretary Alan Johnson to the Wexham Park Hospital near Slough to take a look at a new chemotherapy and haemotology unit. The two men also toured the hospital's acute stroke unit and met staff from the accident and emergency department, currently benefitting from a £13 million development programme.
Earlier today the Prime Minister praised the staff of the NHS for their achievements as the organisation entered its 60th year.
